ProAir successfully handles transportation of Turksat 6A satellite to USA

In June 2024, the ProAir Cargo team Turkey successfully completed the challenging transportation of the Turksat 6A satellite from Ankara in Turkey to Florida in the USA. The shipment of the Turksat 6A satellite represents another milestone in ProAir’s history and once again demonstrates our expertise and reliability in handling complex and demanding air cargo shipments.

This transportation contract was awarded by TÜBİTAK UZAY, the Turkish Institute of Space Technologies. The communication satellite was loaded in an oversized special container to protect the sensitive cargo during the entire journey. An Antonov An 124-100, one of the largest and most powerful cargo aircraft in the world, was used for the flight. With its impressive carrying capacity and ability to transport oversized cargo, the Antonov An 124-100 is the ideal solution for such special missions.

Following its successful arrival at Cape Canaveral, the Turksat 6A satellite will be launched into orbit by SpaceX on a Falcon 9 rocket in July 2024. This next step marks the beginning of the Turkish-built satellite’s operational readiness in space.

We would like to thank TÜBİTAK UZAY for the trust they have placed in us and look forward to continuing to take on future tasks in complex and ambitious transportation. We would also like to thank Antonov Airlines for their tireless and professional approach. And last but not least, we would also like to thank our dedicated cargo team, whose professionalism and commitment contributed significantly to the success of this project.
